Our recent cruise on the Celebrity Equinox left us with mixed feelings. While there were highlights, several areas failed to meet the premium standards we’ve come to expect from Celebrity. The Good: Outstanding Crew • Chunying (China): Cocktail waiter in the aft bar and MDR, who was incredibly kind, polite, and attentive, always remembering our club soda order. • Larissa (Cafe al Bacio): Consistently provided fast, friendly service. • Elijoy (Kenya): Went out of his way to assist Lizzie when she wasn’t feeling well and continued to check on us each evening in the MDR. • Charlene: Our head waitress, who ensured all our needs were met and always offered to resolve any issues. • Lizzie (Zimbabwe): A standout assistant waitress with a wonderful personality—an absolute asset to the ship. She deserves an even more guest-facing role. • Danitza (Chile): Exceptional sommelier who took the time to learn our wine preferences and paired selections perfectly with our meals, even treating us to a favorite Bordeaux on the final night. • Mehut (Sky Observation Lounge): The best bartender on the ship. Always friendly and accommodating, he went above and beyond to deliver excellent service, even retrieving unavailable items from other bars without hesitation. The Not-So-Good: Dining and Entertainment • Food Quality: • MDR meals were inconsistent—steaks were often overcooked or undercooked, food arrived cool or barely warm, and many dishes lacked seasoning. Sorbets tasted overly sweet and lacked fruit-forward tartness. • While there were some good meals, nothing stood out as exceptional, which is disappointing for a premium cruise line. • Entertainment: • Theater singers were disappointing, though the dancers and band were excellent. We skipped Elysium and the third production show because the performers didn’t meet expectations. • Drew Pournell was solid but excelled most with classic/vocal music like Sinatra or Bublé, which better suits his voice. • Alfreda was the highlight in the theater, delivering two engaging and entertaining shows. • The comedian was average at best and blamed the audience for not laughing at weak material—a poor approach. • Sky Observation Lounge Incident: A DJ from Taiwan handled a dispute with a drunk guest poorly, yelling over the microphone and abruptly ending the evening by turning off the lights. This was immature and unprofessional; security should have been called. Cabin Issues • Room cleaning only occurred during evening turndown service if we slept in, leaving the cabin untidy most of the day. • Dirty glasses weren’t removed unless we placed them in the hall, which looked terrible. • QR code requests were never fulfilled, requiring phone calls instead. • No binoculars were provided despite being advertised in our concierge class booking. • Bathroom amenities were worn, with faded, peeling labels, and some towels had holes. Final Thoughts Celebrity used to feel like a step above other cruise lines, but cost-cutting measures post-COVID are evident. While the staff on board were exceptional, especially those mentioned above, inconsistent dining, entertainment, and room quality detracted from the overall experience. We hope Celebrity addresses these issues to restore the premium experience that justifies its higher price point. For now, we’ll be hesitant to book again unless we find a discounted rate.
We were cruising with our family of 12 to include a six-year-old all the way up to my 94-year-old dad. I was very specific in my excursions to make sure that they were 94-year-old friendly. One in particular we booked with the Cable car tour which clearly had a picture of a cable car on the front of it. It was very misleading as the cable car has been broken for two years Per the locals. When we went to the excursion desk, they apologize for the misrepresentation, but offered no type of compensation for this at all. They only said they were going to fix this internally with the company that does the pictures. In other words, they knew that the cable car was not working! Also, the tour itself was just terrible. Hands-down, the worst excursion I’ve ever taken on any ship. And we’ve cruised a good bit. The ship itself was lovely, and the rooms are very accommodating. Staff on board was great Best of all, we loved the blown glass demonstration and activity. Truly enjoyed the grassy and a movie. Great onboard activities. There was plenty of room on the pool deck and we never had issues finding a chair. The food was very good. The animation dinner was outstanding. Overall, our family had a good time. We just would not recommend booking excursions through the ship. The excursions that I booked off ship were amazing! The excursion desk should have been more transparent and honest about this excursion.
We had a good cruise on Equinox! Embarkation and disembarkation were smooth and efficient at Port Canaveral. The things we enjoyed the most were the food, the dining room service, and the small music groups. The slight disappointments were the theater shows, the bar service, and the fitness center equipment, which was in poor repair. We didn't buy the beverage package, so we were choosing our wines based on price. Every bar has a different menu with different wines, but invariably, they would tell us they didn't have the wine we wanted. They would either suggest something else or just pour us a different glass without telling us. I don't know why it's so hard to have the wines you are advertising. In the main restaurant, the sommelier did a good job making it clear what she was selling us, and she got us some good deals on bottles that they held for us in the restaurant for the next night! Our veranda cabin was nice, with plenty of storage (and hangers!). We had no problems with housekeeping. The Celebrity app wasn't the greatest. I suggest you and your traveling companions all set up individual logins and try to link your reservations together. This will help you when it comes time to make dinner reservations or text each other using the app. In our case, my wife was the only one of the four of us who could make our anytime dining reservation on the app. I also recommend the men's changing room (next to the spa, around the corner from the gym) for a good sauna and higher-pressure shower! I took advantage of that several days, and it's all free. Unfortunately, I found the gym equipment to be in bad shape, particularly the rowing machine. The theater shows were disappointing. "Topper" and "Elysium" had incomprehensible stories and the singing was uneven. The "Double Vision" comedy/magic show was just embarrassing - neither funny enough or magical enough to work. The on-board comedian (Lamar something) was OK, not great. There was an Aretha Franklin tribute artist who was a good singer, but a little self-involved. The small musical groups throughout the ship were the highlight of the entertainment, in my view. The buffet was better than I remembered. There was Indian food every day - possibly because the head chef on this ship is Indian. We also had a meal in the Tuscan Grille, and it was worth the up-charge. Our cruise director (Patrick) was amazing, as was his sidekick, Gloria. The ship in general is older and looked exactly like the Eclipse that we sailed on several years ago. I noticed some minor maintenance issues, but I thought the ship was in good shape for the most part. Overall, we had a very good time on this cruise! We didn't take advantage of everything on the ship (casino, organized activities, etc), but we enjoyed just about everything we did try!
Our seven-day eastern Caribbean holiday cruise out of Port Canaveral on The Celebrity Equinox was an absolute blast! We booked two connecting balcony cabins, both category V1 prime verandas with state rooms on deck nine. Check-in was a breeze. We parked our car at Port Canaveral’s terminal one, paid for the entire week’s parking, and went through security. There weren’t any lines at check-in since boarding started at 10 am, which was perfect for us. Once we boarded, we were amazed by the ship’s recent refurbishment last April. Our cabins were amazing! My mom and dad loved their balcony cabin, which had the bathroom first, a sofa, and a bed right next to the balcony. It was perfect for them to enjoy their balcony after waking up in the morning. They also loved the TV that swiveled around. My grandma and I loved our balcony cabin, which had the bathroom on the right, a bed, and a sofa near the balcony. We had no complaints about the cabins, but we loved the balconies outside that we could open up to sit together on Christmas as a family. Our steward was incredible! They did a great job cleaning our rooms every night. Dining was exceptional. We ate in the main dining room and La Petite Chef for dinner. The food was delicious, and the service was great. We loved every moment of it. There were no complaints about the food. The X Club was also wonderful for me. I loved how the activities were designed for teenagers on board, and the staff did a great job. The Celebrity Equinox has truly done a great job for our family. We hope to come back to you sooner in the near future, and your staff is amazing at what they do.
Our cruise on the Celebrity Equinox was absolutely amazing! We went on a seven-night Eastern Caribbean holiday round-trip from Port Canaveral, visiting Puerto Plata, San Juan, and Saint Martin. We booked two cabins, and they were both category V1, which had a prime veranda on the panorama deck 9 . Everything was fantastic from the moment we checked in to the moment we disembarked. When we arrived at Terminal One, it was a breeze. We had a walker for my grandma, so we skipped the security line and went straight to boarding. Security was a snap, and boarding was a blast. We were so excited to be back on the ship after our last cruise. We heard it had been refurbished, and we were blown away by the changes they made. The food was incredible! We think we’ll definitely be back on the ship in the near future. The staff was amazing, especially the captain. They took great care of us during our cruise. There were no complaints about the food, the service, or the rooms. Everything was top-notch. Disembarkation was a breeze too. We did the same thing and there were no lines. It was so easy to get back to our car and head home. Since we live in Daytona Beach, this was so convenient for us. We only had to drive an hour, instead of three hours to Port Everglades. Once again, thank you, Celebrity Equinox, for providing us with a great cruise. We can’t wait to come back soon! Thanks again!

Kids and Teen Programs
The fun starts at Camp At Sea, our onboard entertainment centre and program designed exclusively for kids ages 3 to 12. Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes. Activities are overseen by our team of teen counsellors and offered throughout the day, allowing teens to come and go as they please.
