Celebrity Edge® marks a turning point in our approach to ship design. From the very first sketches to experiencing those designs in a virtual reality setting, every step was done in 3-D. From the incredible new Magic Carpet® to the private plunge pools in our new 2-story Edge Villas, we could design the most refined ship at sea. The unique outward facing design breaks from traditional ship design. Aboard, you’ll feel more connected with the sea and the places you’ll visit in a variety of spaces ranging from our Edge Staterooms with Infinite Verandas®, to our reimagined, terraced pool deck that offers even greater views of the destinations and shimmer of ocean.
First time to cruise on this ship. Mostly for old clientele (retirees for the most). Not much interesting shows and activities on ship - mostly just listening to music and moderately active a activities. If you are out of basic necessities, no shop to buy them from really. Try guest relations or ask housekeeping; may possibly cost you sime money. For the most part everything is high end shopping so if you’re on a budget, not really the appropriate ship. Food wise, their buffet (@Oceanview Cafe) very good indeed! Not so much on their restaurants though which also is, expensive. The crew, ALL of them give excellent service, genuine smiles, very helpful, accommodating, so courteous and efficient! I would have given the review only 3 stars if not for the crew & staff. Special kudos to our ever efficient housekeeper Iwan who gave great service always with a great smile.
Pros - Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze except for the ridiculously over the top security pat downs on embarkation due to an exceptionally sensitive metal detector suspecting the bra wire of all non metal wearing women to be an issue. The ship is aesthetically lovely, no complaints re the decor or styling! All crew we encountered, with the exception of a solitary grumpy and rude barman at the Edge bar, were super friendly and helpful. Our cabin was a deluxe balcony with porthole on deck 9 as we like a traditional balcony. The bed was heavenly, one of the most comfortable we have ever had across multiple cruise companies. We had family members onboard in an Infinite Edge verandah which they loved, but it did not appeal to us at all. We did note though that their cabin felt a tad wider than ours as we could walk past the end of their bed toward their "balcony" without issue but in our cabin, we had to turn sideways to shuffle past the end of our bed out to our balcony, the space was narrow. Everything else felt the same. Dining at the specialty restaurants delivered some beautiful and delicious meals, we had no complaints about the standard, quality or taste of the meals we enjoyed. Service at all of the speciality restaurants was friendly and efficient. Loved the nice touch of being offered blankets in the Rooftop Grill! Drinks in the casino were free for all players which was appreciated. RCL casino's require a PRIME status before drinks are free for players. Loved the trivia events, especially musical bingo. Had a great time trying new things out. Cons - On boarding, no one greeting us knew a single thing about Premium Access, they had no idea what we were talking about and could not tell us where the exclusive embarkation day lunch was, we were sent down to Guest Services who also did not know and had to make a number of phone calls only to tell us two difference restaurant locations and times. Very disappointing considering how expensive this premium add on is!!! Also, priority early boarding from 11am was pointless as we were stuck waiting around onboard to get our embarkation items done. Our muster station point was not open yet. When we found the premium access lunch which was supposed to start from 11.30am, it did not open until 12.00 noon. There was no one at the speciality dining reservation desk until after 12.00 noon. The whole point of premium access and it's early embarkation was to get in early for all the logistics, then chill out over a leisurely lunch until the cabins were ready. We ended up having to wait around and go back to everything and line up with everyone else. We found there was not enough public seating areas onboard. The cafe area around Eden or the central lobby cafe and bar areas were always full, very hard to find seats to sit and read or chill out inside anywhere. There is no library onboard either. The weather was often cold and windy so sitting outside in the high, cold winds was not an option and the ship inside was seriously overcrowded. The seating in the Oceanview Cafe (the buffet) was so tight that to get to to and from our table we had to keep asking other diners to pull their chairs in so we could get shuffle past. All cruise line buffets get so crowded at peak times, we are used to having issues finding a free table etc but we have never not been able to find a clear path to get to a free table! Never experienced this level of everyone being so crammed in before on other cruise lines. There needs to be more space between the tables and chairs, people could not move freely! A lack of attention to detail in our cabin was frustrating. On getting access to our cabin, I jumped in the shower to freshen up as we had been on the go since pre dawn to get to the ship. Stepped out of the shower only to find no towels had been provided. We had to call for them and I had to wait dripping wet in the bathroom for 20 mins. Whilst waiting, I had time to notice the little things and saw the glass of the framed art print in the bathroom was absolutely filthy, had the same issue onboard RCL, true cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired on these ships, no doubt due to the rapid turn around times. I don't think that print has ever been cleaned. Tops of the shower dispenser items were also filthy and appear to have never been cleaned. We noticed the sink/tap placement was poor. If you put your hands under the running water, water would spurt everywhere over the mirror, and back onto you. Always had to remember to use low pressure to avoid this. Finally, family in the separate cabin on the same deck received a comped necklace with an offer to collect free charms throughout the cruise. No such item in our cabin though, we had been overlooked. Was able to collect one from the Effy boutique, but like our towels, it should have been there. The cabin air con temp would not go below 19 degrees which for me, is far too warm for sleeping. We had the sunset side also so our room was like a sauna in the mid 20's well into the evening, even with the curtains closed. I like a cold room to sleep in, especially when the bed is made with a thick doona, hence I did not sleep well on this trip due to the cabin always being far too warm for me at night. Le Petite dinner was let down due to the restaurant being open and situated next to the main lobby bar/area meaning the noise levels between the two venues melded and we really had to strain to hear anything of the dinner plate projection presentation due to the music or announcements in the lobby bar outside. We gave up trying to hear the scripted audio in the restaurant and just watched the projections on the table not really following what was happening. Wine prices were extortionate. USD18 - 20 a glass was the standard with only a tiny number of wines available for USD12 per class from what I saw. I found the wine lists seriously lacking, so many Napa Valley wines bulking out the offerings. If you really enjoy wine, Napa Valley varieties are not usually first to mind and certainly do not warrant paying USD20 + gratuities etc per glass. A quality BOTTLE of Australian, Argentinian, Italian or French wine is easily found in the AUD20-60 price range so to be getting charged over AUD32 for a GLASS of below average wine was not ok.
Our trip was a solid 5-star experience from the very beginning to the end. Every meal felt special, thanks to our attentive server and knowledgeable sommelier. It was our first time at the retreat, but it certainly won't be our last. The seadays slipped away softly, filled with relaxing moments by the pool and in the lounge area. We enjoyed activities led by Kelsey and Sara and were captivated by remarkable Beyond the Podium speeches from fantastic lecturers, including Canadian scientists and a French english speaking anthropologist. Simply the best. Without their knowledges, we might have missed so much of the rich Polynesian culture. The excursions we booked through Celebrity were just fantastic. The ship itself is stunning and in excellent condition. Shows in the theater were breathtaking, and we loved the live musicians at Eden. And, to finish, the meals and the wines were incredibly tasty. Hats off, Celebrity! We are definitely looking forward to coming back.

Our goal to open your world through the culinary experiences we provide comes to life on Celebrity Edge. We rethought everything when we designed Edge—including our main dining experience. Choose from not one, but four complimentary, main restaurants, each with a distinctive design and ambience inspired by a specific region of the world.
Specialty Dining
We wanted to expand our global culinary expertise even further on Celebrity Edge. To open the world—and palates—of our savvy travellers even more, we designed exciting new specialty restaurants found nowhere else at sea. Dine on your time
Celebrity Edge offers not one but four complimentary main restaurants—Normandie, Tuscan, Cosmopolitan, and Cyprus. Every restaurant features the same mouthwatering menu that changes nightly, plus each one offers its own ambience, along with a selection of exclusive, regionally inspired dishes and drinks.
We may have reinvented the main restaurant experience, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining in our main restaurants. You can choose Celebrity Select Early or Late seating for your dining times, which allows you to enjoy dinner at the same table with the same waiter every evening. You’ll be assigned one of the four main dining restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request.

Kids and Teen Programs
The fun starts at Camp At Sea, our onboard entertainment centre and program designed exclusively for kids ages 3 to 12. Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes. Activities are overseen by our team of teen counsellors and offered throughout the day, allowing teens to come and go as they please.
Entertainment On Board
There’s no shortage of entertaining venues on board. Spend the day swimming in the pool with the kids, then watch the sunset while relaxing in one of our elevated hot tubs. Gather on board for movie night under the stars, silent disco parties, hot glass classes, and archery tournaments —so many activities to share.
