Apex thoughts. First time out of Canaveral, used Port Parking Lot for parking so was different than Lauderdale, farther drive from home. Embark not bad at all, swift, terminal clean and beautiful. Cabin was forward…last forward..on level 6. Had round opening on railing, small balcony, and slider door to enter balcony. Tried the bid program to go to better level and are glad we did not— liked our cabin better than those with the virtual balcony and remote controlled shades! Cabin service was tremendous , ice bucket daily and face cloths provided as requested. Buffet is wonderful, with so many choices! We didn’t dine ther in eve but were in Normandie with6 of our friends at one table, same time each night. Husband didn’t like it, beef always tough. I at mostly fish offerings and loved the lamb shanks—- different for me! They catered to my GF needs but I am just intolerant so could occasionally have selections containing gluten. Many nights I had the cheese tray as an hdeurve! I found a niche above the pool bar and spent a couple hours on two afternoons sitting there and reading. Only chaises that were always full and NO CHAIRS in pool area or by the spa pool! Too bad as celebrity gets a lot of seniors who cannot negotiate these. We don’t imbibe much alcohol nor buy a package. Cocktoon this ship are pricey, much more than HAL! So be ready. We each brought the allowed bottle of wine aboard and that helped when we were in cabin—- I like to mix with lemonade or juice from morning buffet. Last sea day THE PANNIST played steel drum soft jazz by the pool and it was terrific! We didn’t go to evening programs as I am severely hearing impaired so often presentations are not good for me. I did go thru shops and admired the Mary Frances handbags and had a chat with a salesperson who told me more about the production of beaded items in India. I then went to casino and had fun losing my $40 in the slots— I should know better! I shopped the gift shop and found a practical shawl that features buttons& buttonholes for a wonderful and easy wear coverup—$10 import! Always look for this area or table on your cruise. My favorite food: fresh herring / sour cream/ capers on morning buffet. Yum! The chocolate filled croissant is wonderful. Gluten free area had smoothies. I always looked for fish on the lunch buffet to accompany my salad choice. Table service in the buffet was outstanding— kudos to the wonderful workers there. Disembarking was so smooth! Lots of easy ramps thru the very clean and new terminal with folks to direct us where to find our luggage. Luggage is STACKED on racks with handles pointed to the aisle SO if you marked your handles or upper edge in a diffecolor ( I used maximum hold duct tape in bright orange) you can easily find them. Checking out easily done now compared to our first cruises in 70’s - 99’s! Photo ID makes it go so much faster. POrtparking Lot pickup area a bit tricky to find but all of the lot pickup in same area luckily. Loy was large and clean but we had to park in a farther lot, agent loaded trunk whe husband drove it up. No water bottles like ParknGo in Lauderdale. We probably will avoid embarking from Canaveral again as farther from home base in Florida— depends on the ship and the cruise!
Our second time on Apex and even better than last time. Seems like the public spaces indoors and out have even more seating than we remember. The whole chairhogs problem and lack of seating on various sailings puts a cloud over the vacation but not here. Embarkation was a breeze as usual. Disembarkation at Port Canaveral wasn’t great. First a long walk on twisty incline, then hard to get a porter to help out to the far away parking lot. Food was excellent. The buffet was excellent with many great choices. We had a few lunches and one dinner there. Main dining in all dining rooms was great, Cosmopolitan being our favorite. The burgers were better than we remember in the Mast Grill with fried onions included. The old standbys apple pie and crème brûlée not as good. Service very good. We had good room service breakfast both free continental and hot breakfast for small service charge almost every morning and they worked with us to ensure on time delivery for timing of medications. Our deluxe porthole veranda was good if a little small. At least we could sit outside in a real balcony reasonably priced. Good steward. The crew was friendly and officers visible. There was a very comfortable atmosphere aboard. The public spaces were full of fun art. We spent time in the Solarium - nice comfy lounges. The food in the Spa Cafe wasn’t as appetizing and varied as we remember but it was healthy. The free coffee and juices were excellent. The music was excellent around the ship. We saw a couple of shows but some were repeats. We do wish the shows would be updated. I would like more crafting and art classes and please not always at 9am. Lots of varied offerings of activities though. The sailing was relaxing and entertaining and my criticisms are minor. The only real frustration was with the included Elite WIFI minutes. Celebrity would return my minutes but connection was a problem often. I would sail Apex again in a heartbeat. It’s our favorite ship. We are vets of 40 sailings on various lines the most recent Oceania and Holland America. Try Apex, you’ll like it.
We’ve cruised 25+ times on several of the major lines. This is our first Celebrity cruise and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Our last three cruises (2022-2024)on other lines were very disappointing, so we cautiously went into this one not expecting much. My husband and I were impressed from the minute we dropped our bags and walked onto the ship. I can say for sure we will cruise with Celebrity in the future. From the ship to our stateroom to dining to the crew and fellow passengers, our experience was pleasurable and went above and beyond our expectations. We left relaxed and looking forward to our next cruise. Embarkation was a breeze and we love how we walked right to our cabin to drop off our things. Debarkation was just as easy. Our room steward, Putu, provided exceptional twice daily service and our porthole traditional balcony stateroom was perfect in every way. The food was delicious and provided endless freshly made options. We ate mostly at the buffet and only one night in the dining room. The buffet was neat, clean and well attended by friendly staff. Handwashing was monitored, which we appreciated. Our night in the dining room was ok, but our table seemed like an add on with chairs that didn’t match the rest of those in the room and we were tucked well back into a corner by the staff prep area. This was assigned dining so it would have been our table all 7 nights. We were assigned 6:00 p.m. dining but got a card in our room saying 5:30. This is too early for us and added to our dining decision. The staff were friendly and efficient but those of us at our table felt like an after thought, so we decided to enjoy the rest of the cruise leisurely eating at the buffet. This decision didn’t disappoint and we ended up enjoying the freedom this provided in our schedule. We did not eat at specialty venues only as our opinion is the up charges are getting to be excessive, and we have special places at home we enjoy and would rather spend our money there. The drink package is probably our only “complaint”. At first we didn’t buy one, then gave in to the hard sell at the bar. We then quickly realized many drink options aren’t even covered in the basic package, so you have to pay the difference if you want a specific drink. Example: Many glasses of wine are over $12 and there are specialty cocktails, martinis and other beverages that cost above the limit for the basic drink package. We then upgraded to the top package and again found out not all drinks are included so be prepared to pay extra. All that to say, we personally can’t drink enough alcohol or otherwise for the drink package to “pay off”, so should have stuck to our original plan of pay as you go. There is, however, a huge push to purchase a drink package. We finally decided to stop adding up our losses there because it really was a waste of money for us. Note: one Day 1 you can purchase the package for 30% off, in case you miss the online promotion. There is a 20% gratuity added back on to the cost of the purchase. We always found seating outside and in where we wanted to be. The pool area seemed lively & fun but we opted for more quiet outdoor places. The Solarium is a lovely escape and we always found chairs there, as well. Lots of entertainment options are available. We enjoyed the music most nights at the Martini Bar. Overall, the Celebrity Apex was a win.

Kids and Teen Programs
The fun starts at Camp At Sea, our onboard entertainment centre and program designed exclusively for kids ages 3 to 12. Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes. Activities are overseen by our team of teen counsellors and offered throughout the day, allowing teens to come and go as they please.
Entertainment On Board
There’s no shortage of entertaining venues on board. Spend the day swimming in the pool with the kids, then watch the sunset while relaxing in one of our elevated hot tubs. Gather on board for movie night under the stars, silent disco parties, hot glass classes, and archery tournaments —so many activities to share. Family Friendly Excursions
