We just returned from a cruise on Celebrity Constellation out of Tampa, FL. We pre-purchased parking at the port and it was smooth sailing through security and we were on the ship in about a half hour. We live in MD. Cruising for us is a special vacation and we have never had one that we didn’t totally enjoy. The Constellation is an older ship but is very well maintained. The guests were older Florida residents who seemed to mostly stay on the ship. Ports were all ok and ones we stopped to before. Royal Beach Club in Nassau was brand new and a wonderful beach break but there is a change. There were plenty of lounge chairs in the shade at either a pool or beach. Water was too rough for us on the day we went. Food had good choices to suit anyone and drinks were good. Now for the staff. Kelly the Cruise Director and her staff were great at always keeping the party going! Waiter Ab and assistant Alan were the best and gave us top notch service and made our meals in Blu restaurant exceptional! Hostess Sierra always had a great table for us. And our Room Attendant Sandeep, on deck 9, always provided anything we needed and kept it looking just like the day we came aboard! Let’s not forget about the great bartenders at all the bars especially BoomBoom, Edi and Reen at the Martini Bar who always kept the guests entertained and well hydrated! Food in Blu was delicious and you don’t want to miss the Beef Wellington and Lobster night, day 6 and Buffet on day 7. There were plenty of chair savers on the sea days, but we were able to find some together away from the pool. Getting off the ship was a bit tough. We walked off with our luggage along with most of the FL guests who drove. We left our room at 7:15 and finally got to the car at 8:30. Overall it was awesome cruise and we hope to sail with Celebrity again soon!
This was our 21st cruise overall, seventh cruise on Celebrity. The “Connie” has long been a fan favorite, and it’s easy to see why. People bash this ship over the food and the cabins. So, let’s talk about them. CABINS: The Connie is an older ship, so there are some places where it may lack the sparkle and shine you expect to see. The common areas, dining rooms and bars have clearly been refreshed in the past few years. However, the cabin decor in the cabins is somewhat dated. Now, before you swear off the Connie because of the cabins, know that they are far from dumpy looking and ours was clean as a pin for the entire cruise. One cool thing about these cabins: more storage space is available than you find in cabins on the Solstice-class ships. One drawback: we had a balcony and the chairs are straight-backed and fairly uncomfortable to sit in for any period of time. Definitely different from the comfortable adirondack-style veranda chairs you find on Solstice and Edge ships. Finally, AbbyLou (our cabin steward) was one of the very best we’ve had over the years. We’ve had some great ones, so that’s saying something! FOOD: I’m baffled by reviewers who said the food selection/quality on the Connie was poor. Again, this was our seventh cruise on Celebrity and we found the food to be just a good as before. Fresh and the variety was excellent. We ate in the Main Dining Room three evenings, food and service were top notch. Oceanview was our go-to for lunch and dinner on evenings following shore excursions. We ate at the Tuscan grill one evening and it was outstanding. Didn’t bother was Le Petit Chef, since the menus looked boring. The service was excellent. It never ceases to amaze me how the staff remains so pleasant and willing to help passengers, day after day. From the pool deck staff to the dining rooms, Oceanview, Cafe al Bacio, you name it…they were all wonderful. They did so much to make the trip memorable. Port Reviews: Cozumel - Six ships in port that day, so we visited Nachi Cocom Beach Club. Fourth trip there, and it was as good as ever. Belize - Been there twice before and saw the sights, so we didn’t leave the ship. Costa Maya - Did the rounds in the port, not much to see. We enjoy days in port when the boat is empty (bonus sea days!), and this itinerary lends itself well to that. Anyway, don’t count Connie out. Definitely a great ship/crew and worth checking out!
Awesome service from all staff, and main dinning Ocean View Cafe food choices were a wide variety. The cabin was very clean and accommodating for us, but we were out and about all day and only slept and showered in the Cabin. Stacey Kay and Lamonte Ferguson entertainment shows were phenomenal. The Karaoke was way to much and all ages were involved, and the audience was very supportive to all participants. There was many great deals on merchandise on the ship. Roof Top movies were a must watch movie, and was able to play Pickleball, Ping Pong, Corn Hole, Walked 5 miles the track every day. Sea days I enjoyed the Swimming Pools and hot tubs, and laying in the sun to get a good start on my sun tan. Still have time to spend in the Casino trying my luck on table games as well as the slots. Highly Recommend Celebrity Constellation's. My second cruise on this ship with in 90 days. Will sail in the fall with Constellations.
The ship and the staff were wonderful. The MDR was great at well. I did an excursion of New Orleans, the day after Mardi Gras that was informative. I did go to Burbon Street the day before, the crowds, and the walk from the boat, were a bit much for me. I also did an excursion at the stop in Mexico, I believe it was called Progresso. Mostly shopping. If I had a complaint, it was the Japanese specialty restaurant in the evening. I had lunch at Sushi on Five, and it was great. The dinner, on the other hand was terrible. We left after about 7 courses, and complained bitterly to guest services. But in the end, the staff, my cabin and the food were great, especially on a boat that is over 20 years of age. I would sail on the Constellation again. Despite being older it was still a wonderful time.

Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes.
