Overall, it was a great cruise but there are definitely some areas for improvement. Crew: They were great and service was impeccable from the cabin stewards to the bartenders. Food for the most part was above average. We didn't do any specialty dining, and we did find that the buffet actually had better food than the main dining rooms on a few nights. We liked the "freestyle" concept of dining and not having to make reservations or have a set time for dining. Sport court: We were pleased to find a portable net and temporary lines for a pickleball court. We set it up and soon had 10-12 people playing every day that it wasn't too windy. The pickleball lines were smaller than a regular court. There were only a few paddles and balls, and by the end of the cruise we were down to two balls. If they had provided a 2nd net, there was room to add another court and there would not have been so much waiting. With all of the days at sea on this trip, it would have been nice to have more to do. Entertainment was a mixed bag - anything the entertainment cast and Motown group were great. We wished they would have done more performances. The Motown group and the juggler were good. The comedian wasn't funny and lots of people walked out. The singers that performed in the lounges and at the pool were all great - especially Ralph. We enjoyed the trivia games and most of the lectures. We aren't big dance party people so usually headed to the room fairly early in the evening. I realize that not many people are concerned with tv programming but with so many days at sea, it would have been nice to have a little more variety than the same movies (four old, four new) and the same two reruns of several sitcoms just didn't cut it. We also thought we might be able to see some Olympic coverage, but all the sports channel had was cricket, soccer, and NBA and college basketball games that were played days ago. The news channels were the only thing with different programming. Normally this would not be an issue but with 7 days at sea, it would have been nice to have a little more variety. The best part of the trip was the passage through the canal. We also enjoyed all of our ports of call. It would have been nice to have another quick stop instead of two full days at sea at the end of the cruise.
