Oceania is a great value. the rooms are nice and the Marina has a large (for a cruise ship) bathroom. The food is consistently good and the vast majority of the staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the dining options available. The entertainment was varied and quite good: a comedian, a singer, the cruise ensemble, and movie nights. We enjoyed trivia, the art scavenger hunt, and a couple of other activities. My one complaint is the quality of the tours. The guides are seldom equipped with microphones so we cannot hear what they are saying. One tour was very disappointing and a waste of our day. We asked for a refund as the tour did not meet the description in the tour information material. I heard nothing back from Oceania regarding my comments on this tour. I also asked that they exclude this particular tour from tour options. We are considering booking all of our tours independently on our next cruise because of this experience. Oceania connotes quality and they did not live up to their generally high standards as far as our tours.
Fabulous cruise on a beautiful ship. It was sad when the 12 days ended as I would have loved to sail on Marina for another month at least. Very good food. Perfect Oceania Suite. Fabulous service. The Oceania Suite cost more than our normal PH1 penthouse but it was worth every cent. The Suite has 2 bathrooms and even a nice bonus tv/study room - which I called my “man room.” :) We thoroughly enjoyed our fellow cruisers which we meet at shared dining. Very friendly, successful delightful folks. The average age on board is around 70 years old I would guess. And these are sharp, active, people who love seeing the world. The ship has a nice walking circle on the 15th deck which my wife and I made good use. On a couple rain/windy days we enjoyed the new top notch exercise equipment. My wife really enjoyed the 2 cooking classes which Oceania excels. The food was so good. My wife never ever likes buffet style - but she really likes Terrace!!! We liked all the specialty dining as well. We booked 2 more Oceania cruises and I don’t think I ever want to sail on a different cruise line. One big negative - I signed up for Oceania Suites AGAIN as now I can’t ever go back to a more affordable category of suites!!!!
We are mainly expedition cruisers but we enjoyed this fairly port intensive ocean cruise. Marina is a happy ship; the staff are friendly, helpful and competent. Whilst not the 'finest cuisine at sea' we enjoyed the food especially Jacques which is a truly fine dining experience. Red Ginger was also excellent and although the main dining room menu is limited it did not disappoint. The 'buffet' was also very good and I liked there being table cloths on in the evenings. I was happy with the wine offerings and supplemented them with pre-dinner 2/1.cocktail. The cabin was fine but can't see why you need a bath. Cabin stewards exemplary. We met some very lovely and interesting people through sharing table at dinner, bridge and trivia. The Panama canal transit was amazing - highly recommend if you haven't done it. Shore excursions were disappointing on a couple of occasions. We will be back if the itinerary is right.
