5 stars for the food. The Main Dining Room was excellent with a varied menu each day and fabulous wait staff. The buffet was excellent as well and well laid out by cuisine preferences. 5 stars for our J3 Junior Suite Balcony room! Lots of room with two bathrooms and room for our electric mobility to keep inside to charge and even drive circles in the room. 5 stars for their elevators! Plenty of them fore, aft, and middle and they were very large and roomy. 5 stars for their mobility-challenged passenger accommodations both on ship and getting off ship at ports! 2 stars for the entertainment which cost them the 5-star rating. If you think middle school bathroom wall humor is hilarious you might give it 5 stars. We had to walk out on the 2 offerings this cruise gave. Even the juggler could not stop with non-stop jokes about his balls and what he could do with them. The comedian was just filth. Royal Caribbean needs to clean up their acts. Especially considering this was a late September cruise with school age kids mostly absent leaving a mature 60+ occupancy. Some help staff on ship were surprisingly poor. With poor knowledge of the ship amenities, locations, hours and such. Usually directed to look at the directory by the elevators to find the locations. This by help staff the lives on the boat all year? By the end of the week-long cruise, I was a much better guide to for all floors. The "Next Cruise" staff was horrible, we even tried twice just in case we got a bad one before. They told us every single RC cruise to all destinations in 2027 were already sold out and offered only 2028 cruises. If you love going to auctions for almost anything you want to purchase on the ship, this cruise is for you. We would have loved to buy a Thomas Kincade art piece they had, but you had to participate in an open auction on the last day to purchase it. Same with most fine jewelry. All considering...we would go on RC to Alaska again in a heartbeat!
This is the first vacation I've been on where I wish I was still there! I'm usually quite happy to be home again, but I just loved this cruise and everything about it, including our outstanding cabins. I wish I could go back! My husband and I, along with our 2 teenage grandchildren, shared 2 connecting balcony cabins. This arrangement worked out so well for us, we had everything we could need and were never in anyone's way and all slept very well. Our cabin attendant, Jawa, was so helpful and kind and kept the rooms very clean and supplied with the cutest towel animals! We found the food in the Wind Jammer to be good but the last 2 days they outdid themselves and it was excellent. We really enjoyed the main dinning room and our wait staff, Sydney and Rafeal, who treated us like family. My husband and I rate them a 10, although our grandkids would like to rate them a 20. We were so spoiled by their excellent service. My husband and I had been on cruises many years ago and the grandkids had never even seen a cruise ship before and we were all so impressed by the size and the beauty of the Anthem and all the things to do. All 4 of us even rode the bumper cars together and hadn't laughed that hard in a long time. Everyone from the shop attendants, activity workers, stewards, restaurant workers, excursion workers, all ship personnel were so wonderful and kind. And Alaska was truly lovely and amazing. This vacation was just what we needed but much more than expected. Thank you for exceeding our expectations. Thank you.
