We were on a 16 sector of the world cruise from Ft Lauderdale to Lisbon. The ship was really, really spectacular. We had reservations about it after having sailer on Silver Nova and Silver Ray ... well our experience was AMAZING. To compare it to Nova/Ray (which is next level modern) --- the food quality and service makes up for it by miles. The food was AMAZING good. The crew are genuinely happy and bend over backwards to go the extra mile. Hot plates and hot food every night! I can genuinely say not a bad meal. The pool is spectacular. The outdoor dining not quite as flash as Nova/Ray. The gym is adequate. Spa amazing. The other pax were generally really warm and friendly -- good vibe, a bit more sedate -- perhaps a bit older because of the World Cruise. Nothing to fault here and my fear of the Muse class vessel as a second rate ship is gone. My only complaint is the shower is small, could have done with out the bathtub. Ebverything else: 10/10
More an Atlantic cruise - we just touched the Med briefly. This was Lisbon to Lisbon via Canary Islands, Gibraltar and Cadiz - all places we'd never traveled to before. First impression was a beautifully presented ship. Balcony cabin was spacious. Service was as expected and the quality of food was very good to excellent. Many of the passengers were from the UK, some from US and Germany. Although the cruise coincided with the start of Europe's winter, we generally had fine and calm weather. On warmer days people were in the pool. We booked under the old model with included excursions, and they actually exceeded our expectations. Groups were kept to manageable numbers and guides were very knowledgeable. It was great to be on a cruise where the lift (elevator) was never packed with people. Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze. We had no complaints. Dance music at night stuck to disco, but there is lots of dance music from the 1960s to 1980s that would have been welcomed by the Silversea crowd. We preferred the Pommery Champagne from a previous SS cruise to the current offering, but aren't wine snobs. With the higher decks filled with suites, which came with laundry service, there was always a self-serve laundry to be found there. Overall, we had a great cruise.
This was our fifth cruise in total after cruising three times on the Regent Grandeur and once on the Seabourne Sojourn. Ensure this was the most amazing cruise experience we’ve ever had. The staff were remarkable. I’d like to compare Silversea to Regent when you go on Regent it’s like going into Claridges for the first time you think oh my God wow the elevators the marble floors the height the ambience is just wow wow wow but also you get that feeling should I be in that restaurant? Should I be there because it’s very overwhelming whereas when you walk on the silver dawn, you might walk into a corridor next to lifts but everything flows. It’s like walking into a five star boutique hotel and everybody quickly gets to know you welcome you the staff are always participating in things. There’s so much choice. There’s no restrictions. There’s 20 pizzas to compare to 2 on Regent. You can add things as you can take things away. If something is not in the menu. It’s a lot easier to ask for what you want. They’re so accommodating. It’s just fantastic. They’ve got things that Regent don’t do their arts café with an outdoor balcony all usable heaters whereas on the region it’s almost part of the corridor they’ve got a lot of unusable spaces yes entertainment a lot smaller but you’re closer to the action. It feels like you’re immersed in it you’re part of it. The singers were much better on the Silver Sea, very weak on the Regent. And ask for the food just stunning a magnificent the hot rocks around the pool. I mean that’s just so unique. Cook your own steak. It’s just fantastic the area on level five where you have the quizzes the bingo the round bar all in the main area that’s usable with the piano it’s just fantastic and well thought through the salt adventure under eight restaurants no restrictions. It’s just fantastic and we’ve got another 11 cruises booked over the next 2 1/2 years nine of them are with Silver C and two with Regent including one of their new prestige, but we’re not trying out the silver Ray next. Just wonderful absolutely wonderful. I’m not having any of these criticisms. I thought it was absolutely stunning. Well done Silver sea the only thing I didn’t like was the smoking allowed near the pool. I thought that was very poor because you could actually smell it in the Jacuzzi. I didn’t like that. I thought that was pretty poor really and I need to change that have it back on level nine only.
