Ship Reviews

Overall a good experience. The crew make the cruise enjoyable, always smiling and saying hello. Shower cubicle small we had a veranda plus cabin. Food in Discoveries and specialty restaurants was good and hot. The same could not be said about the buffet, brunches and White night. The food was just warm. The entertainment was OK the individual singers were good. The band was excellent, but when the singers sang as a group they were shouting. Do take advantage of the laundry package 8 bags for $110. Embarkation could have been better, were waiting outside in the heat, no shade, no offer of water. A lot of standing around before you were processed, no offer of seats for elderly passengers. Disembarkation could have been better. We were advised to go to the gangway. When we arrived we were unable to disembark as immigration were not ready. Bad planning on Azamara's part.

This was an absolutely stunning cruise. We are on a 6 month trip in South America and it ticked so many of the things we wanted to see. The Chilean fjords, Antarctica and the Falklands. We were very lucky with the weather which obviously helped. The naturalist, geology and history speakers had done the trip before so gave some very good advice to the captain who was good enough to listen. Our visit to Paradise Cove with mirror calm water and humpback whales everywhere you looked will stay with me forever. The ship, captain and crew were all a pleasure as was the food and service. The entertainment was perhaps the only thing that wasn't entirely to our taste, but it was good enough. We were however delighted to be joined by two Argentine tango dancers and teachers and took full advantage of the free lessons and milongas. We found the shore excursions a bit expensive, so only did a couple, and organised our own on the Falklands to include history and penguins. I love sea days anyway, but the fjords and Antarctica with the scenery and wildlife made this very special.

Kids & Teens

Azamara® accepts guests of any age*, but discourages families from sailing with children under 18 years of age, as the on board ambience and experience caters to adults and there are no activities for children or baby-sitting services available.

Please note: we have a medical centre on board which is staffed by a fully qualified doctor; however our doctors are not paediatricians. Guests must therefore bring on board an adequate supply of specific medications they need for all members of their family.
