Celebrity Edge®, the first ship in our stunning Edge® Series, is now one of the first resorts at sea to receive a Recommended Rating from Forbes Travel Guide. Celebrity Edge marks a turning point in our approach to ship design. From the very first sketches to experiencing those designs in a virtual reality setting, every step was done in 3-D. From the incredible new Magic Carpet® to the private plunge pools in our new 2-story Edge Villas, we could design the most refined ship at sea. The unique outward facing design breaks from traditional ship design. Aboard, you’ll feel more connected with the sea and the places you’ll visit in a variety of spaces ranging from our Edge Staterooms with Infinite Verandas®, to our reimagined, terraced pool deck that offers even greater views of the destinations and shimmer of ocean.
Celebrity Edge is sailing with Starlink - the world’s most advanced broadband satellite internet - to bring you high-speed connectivity for a better onboard experience.
The bottom line is that while Celebrity is not the all-inclusive luxury cruise experience, it is a good value and a fun experience. We had a sunset veranda cabin and highly recommend that cabin. The views from the balcony were always nice, but especially during the trip into Milford Sound. The infinite veranda cabins did not appeal to us as the window was often dirty and sometimes hard to open. All the sunset veranda cabins seemed to have a lounger and two chairs. Entertainment was better than expected and the crew from Captain and cruise director to the rest of the staff was pleasant and very engaged. Getting on and off the ship was never an issue and was very efficient. Food was high quality and the wait staff was good. Variety in the main dining rooms was limited. They have 3 mains that are available all the time, 3 mains that are special to each main (but are not really that attractive sounding and for some reason never change) and five mains that change every day. Yet by the end of the 12-day cruise I could rarely find an option that sounded interesting. On the other hand, the buffet had a wide variety of food and was always fresh and attractive. Had one specialty dinner in Eden and it was great, quite worth the upcharge. The ship is beautiful and the itinerary was interesting. Celebrity did a good job overall.
The selection and quality of food in the buffet is the best we have experienced on a cruise ship buffet. Dinner in the Blu restaurant was great and the entertainment was great. There were lots of activities to choose from every day. The staff in all areas of the ship were extremely attentive and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs and working with each other. Captain Matt was the most involved, delightful captain we have experienced on a ship. and cruise director Dom was very entertaining. The ship is beautiful, with many different spaces to hang out. Eden is a beautiful space to relax in. There were only 2 things we did not enjoy. We did not like having an infinite veranda vs. a traditional veranda because in the warm climate we could not enjoy some time on our balcony without heating up our room. We also did not like that there is no Sky Lounge (as on previous classes of Celebrity ships) or other place to sit and enjoy the view from the front of the ship. That space is now all turned into areas for suite guests.
Ship need some upgrades. Menus need refreshing. Entertainment was great, especially in Eden. Was a quiet ship after 11 pm. Solarium was wonderful found chairs easily. Service staff great. Cabin Stewart great. Embarkation and debarkation great. With this cruise we were docking in active shipyards and it was nice to have free buses to the cities. Nice to be greeted as we return to the ship with cool towels to freshen up. The ship was full but not feel crowded. Few things around that could be refreshed and some rust spot need painting. Lounges comfortable. Specialty restaurants nice but pricy. Had a great weather week. Musical entertainment excellent. It was great to see the Captain out and about and participating in activities and talking to passengers. Lots of activities if you chose to partake. Nice that casino is non smoking. Cabins comfortable but need a bit more closet space and better hangers.
Fabulous cruise with a minor complaint. We loved the itinerary, everything ran smoothly, it didn't feel crowded, great staff, fabulous entertainment, but food in MDR sub-par. We have cruised Celebrity Edge in the past and the food quality was excellent. Now I suspect a bit too much cost-cutting provided only average cuisine. We actually enjoyed the buffet for breakfast and lunch more than dinner. We especially loved the on board lectures. Both the astronomer and the naturalist were super! I would have also liked to hear about the history of New Zealand, but I guess I could read a book. The only specialty dining we sprung for was Le Petit Chef that we love every time for the food and the entertainment. We selected run-of-the-mill Celebrity excursions in Tauranga and Napier, but despite being on large tour buses, we felt these were informative and worthwhile. On our own, we saw the WeTa workshop in Wellington, but would have liked to tour more than just the gift shop. Other ports were mainly interesting for botanic gardens and scenery. Sadly we never saw any wildlif eon this trip except for some momentary dolphins. Milford Sound is worth the trip all by itself!

On our Celebrity Edge® Series ships, we may have reinvented the main restaurant experience with four different venues, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining. With Celebrity Select Dining you can choose early seating at 6:00 P.M., late seating at 8:30 P.M., or dine whenever you want. You’ll be assigned one of the four main restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request and availability.

Kids and Teen Programs
The fun starts at Camp At Sea, our onboard entertainment centre and program designed exclusively for kids ages 3 to 12. Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes. Activities are overseen by our team of teen counsellors and offered throughout the day, allowing teens to come and go as they please.
Entertainment On Board
There’s no shortage of entertaining venues on board. Spend the day swimming in the pool with the kids, then watch the sunset while relaxing in one of our elevated hot tubs. Gather on board for movie night under the stars, silent disco parties, hot glass classes, and archery tournaments —so many activities to share.
