We just finished our second cruise aboard the Celebrity Ascent this year, and it did not disappoint. The ship is absolutely stunning and eloquent in every aspect of the design, but what sets our experience apart is the staff and their willingness and desire to make our vacations the best possible. We stayed in a Sunset Suite located at the aft of the ship so we had access to a butler, Joshua, who was simply amazing. He tended to our every need and answered all our questions, of which we had many. He even came to our room one night with his boss and they sang a song for my wife and I. It was totally unexpected and completely awesome. Our room attendant, Made, was always smiling and making sure our room was perfectly clean(twice a day) and always asked if he could do more for us. The suites in The Retreat are beautiful rooms and very comfortable beds. The lighting controls and shade controls on the wall are excellent and you can access from your phone on the app. The bathroom is huge and the shower is perfect. As part of the Retreat, we had access to Luminae, the suite only specialty restaurant, for every meal. The quality of the food and the variety on the menu, which changed every day, was second to none. The food was excellent, but the service from our wait staff led by Indu and Irish was the best we have ever had. They made incredible recommendations and always went above and beyond making sure our dining experience was perfect. The many bars, including the exclusive Retreat Lounge and Sundecks, are extremely clean and beautifully designed with comfortable places to sit and enjoy the view while enjoying a drink over conversations. The staff here was also incredible; always attentive and making drinks with exceptional quality. I like to gamble from time to time, and the casino has plenty of options. There were less people on this cruise than normal, or at least it seemed that way, so I didn't get to play any poker, but was able to keep myself entertained when I felt like it. The place is clean and the staff here are also great. They make great conversation and make sure you always have a drink if you want. We dined at 3 of the specialty restaurants this time: Eden, Fine Cut Steakhouse, and Raw on 5. The meals were amazing, especially at Eden. We love that place. The ambiance is perfect and the menu is outstanding. Our wait staff was excellent, making great recommendations including on an outstanding bottle of wine to pair with our meal. We didn't finish it so they corked it back up for us and sent it Luminae so we could enjoy with our next meal. The wife and I each visited the spa twice on sea days for services and were extremely pleased. Both my massages were perfect, and my wife had a manicure/pedicure she thoroughly enjoyed and did teeth whitening, which to my surprise did an excellent job. The entertainment on the ship was excellent yet again. We saw 2 acts including a production and a comedian. I am not big into the productions myself, but it was very entertaining and they were extremely talented folks. The comedian was hilarious. He was a Brit and made me laugh uncontrollably throughout the show. The best part of the shows is they are the perfect length, about an hour. It allows you to experience more on the ship each night when you aren't tied down for hours. The itinerary was amazing for this cruise, starting in Rome and heading to Olympia, Corfu, two stops in Croatia, Montenegro, Sicily, and Naples. Olympia did not disappoint. We saw the ruins of where the Olympic games started and it was truly breathtaking to stand where it all started. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and very pleasant. She then took us to a local olive farm where we learned about how olive oil is made, got to sample numerous types, and have an amazing greek meal. The olive oil was the best I have ever had and bought a ton of it. This was a great excursion! Corfu is a beautiful small town on a Greek island. We were not super pleased with our excursion overall because the guide was sort of blah and there were a ton of us in the tour and she didn't use the mic and ear pieces which made it very difficult to hear her. The town was beautiful and would love to visit again someday. Dvornik, Croatia was one of our favorites. What an amazing town. We did the Game of Thrones tour which took you through the old town and fort where the show was shot. Our guide was really good. He was very knowledgable and such a nice man who answered everyone's questions. The old town is simply stunning. You could spend an entire day there for sure. Split, Croatia was also amazing. We had a young lady as our guide with a smaller group and she was all over it. She really knew her stuff and had a great sense of humor. We got to see the old palace that was built before Christ and the whole town was clean and beautiful. We skipped Montenegro and stayed on the ship because there was rain and road construction that was going to make our drive time over 3 hours for a 1 hour tour. Celebrity handled it perfectly by letting us know in advance and allowing us to cancel. The Retreat Concierge team is amazing and made it the easiest transaction ever. In Sicily, we went to Taormina. Do yourself and a favor and go to this place. The town is absolutely picturesque sitting on the mountainside overlooking the water. There are many shops and places to eat or have a coffee or drink. Simply one of the most beautiful towns I have ever experienced. Truly breathtaking. Naples was our overall favorite. We did a very long 9 hour excursion, which had us worried, but it turned out to be amazing. We took a shuttle with about 10 people total to Sorrento, on the way to towards the Amalfi coast. The drive is as scenic as it gets, and only about an hour. We went to farm again where we got a great tour from one of the family members and then had a snack of their mozzarella, which they showed us how to make, and some of their fruit(lemons, etc). From there we headed to the town which is absolutely beautiful. We had about 90 minutes to spend in the town by ourselves which we spent walking around shopping and checking out the amazing views. We jumped back on the shuttle and went to Pompei to finish the day. Our guide on this excursion was again really good. Very knowledgable and very pleasant young lady. Pompeii is a must. The size of the place absolutely shocked me and the preservation of some of the structures was mind boggling. It is a must for sure. Once again, Celebrity knocked it out of the park which is why we keep coming back. We have another one scheduled in March and simply can't wait for it to get here. If you can make it work, try The Retreat. It really stretches our pocket book, as we are just your average income folks, but the experience is truly special. You will get off the boat and reality will hit you in the face when you return to the states. You just can't find customer service like that anymore which is why we spend the extra money. Plus, if you end up purchasing the wifi package, premium drink package, and specialty dining packages, the cost difference between the suite and veranda rooms isn't that big and all of that is included in The Retreat, plus you get treated like royalty, which is kind of weird for us, but something we have grown to really enjoy while on vacation. You get so much for your money that isn't even known like priority boarding(huge in my opinion) plus you get off the boat with priority too, both for excursions and at the end. The Retreat team will literally fall over themselves to serve you, even if you aren't someone who normally cares about that, it is a nice change of pace. Plus the private sundeck, pool, and lounge are really great. Our balcony on our room was huge too and had recliner chairs and regular chairs so if you want total privacy, you have it too. Can't say too much about how we love these vacations.
This was our first cruise so a little nervous. No need to worry at all as the staff are the friendliest crew with nothing being too much trouble. The service on Celebrity Ascent was absolutely world-class, every encounter—from our stateroom attendant to the waiters—was courteous, kind, and responsive. Our attendant went above and beyond to help with whatever we needed, making us feel completely taken care of. Activities and food were excellent and the entertainment was varied and worth watching. The ship itself is a beautiful, modern, and thoughtfully designed vessel, offering so many different places to relax and enjoy the incredible ocean views. The dining was exceptional; we especially loved the variety in the four separate main dining rooms. The food quality, both in the main restaurants and the buffet, was consistently very good, with almost no misses. As for entertainment, the nightly shows in the main theatre—especially the production shows like Bridges and Awaken—were outstanding and engaging. Even the more intimate venues shine, like the lively Martini Bar where the bartenders put on a show, or the unique Eden lounge with its stunning two-deck glass walls and live performances. Every corner of the ship has a lovely, fresh scent, adding to the premium and upscale vibe. The entire experience was truly amazing. This is the most relaxed holiday I’ve ever had, and the staff's great customer service and attention to detail made us feel incredibly spoilt. We've just booking our 2027 cruise with them because it's hard to imagine sailing with anyone other than Celebrity! This is the only cruise line for us!
We absolutely loved our Mediterranean Cruise on the Ascent! The ship was immaculate our cabin was very nice (although you could feel some swaying on deck 7 from our cabin, but not much). Our stateroom attendant Ketut tended to our every need! We thought the food was wonderful (loved our waiter Bayu in Tuscan, he took great care of us) and we even enjoyed one night of room service which was prompt. I love Cafe al Bacio the coffee drinks are wonderful and the pastries are to die for! We fell in love with a waitress there named Daniella who served us our coffee in the morning and also took excellent care of us while we were in The Martini Bar in the evening, now she was really something special, we will never forget her! We have tried other cruise lines (Princess) and it was so awful, so far nothing beats Celebrity for us. Best tour of the whole trip was Sorrento and The Amalfi Drive, it was breathtaking!
The Ascent is a beautiful ship! It is thoughtfully designed and offers many different places to get a drink, relax and enjoy the ocean views. We had an 11 night sailing and we never got tired of this ship. The food and staff were exceptional. The nightly entertainment was outstanding. We only missed one of the evening shows. I can't speak to the specialty dining as we didn't eat at any of those restaurants. However, the food in the main dining room and the Oceanview Cafe was very good with lots of different options. We loved Eden and frequently went there for breakfast and also some evening entertainment. We always enjoy the Solarium with the Spa Cafe close by and the peace and quiet of that area. We had several shore excursions through the cruise line and they were handled well. I really have no complaints about this ship! We thoroughtly enjoyed our cruise and will be sailing on the Ascent again!
We’ve just returned from a 12 day cruise on the Ascent. The modern design is beautiful and the entertainment was amazing. The 3 production shows Bridges, Awaken, Residency are not to be missed. All other nights we had excellent live artists in the main theatre except for the first night. Food & beverage was excellent. Our main dining favorite was Normandie and we loved our assistant waiter Shiela. Only in Cosmopolitan we had a mistake in terms of service. Although we had the early dining timeslot we could dine anytime and in any of the four main dining restaurants. Specialty dining we did Eden, le Petit Chef and the Steakhouse. The food in Eden was excellent, but the live music was too loud and boring. Our waiter was over acting with a French accent and everything was very rushed. We had a reservation at 8pm. Le Petit Chef was a nice experience, food was good and service excellent. A bit strange that they don’t do a cheaper upsell for the wine pairing if you have premium all incl. So we ordered our wine by glass separate. The Steakhouse was excellent. The fillet mignon was amazing. Service and ambiance as well. It was never crowded in the specialty restaurants. Maybe because the extra charge is too high? And we found the food in the main dining also perfect. Lunch and breakfast at Ocean View were perfect, except that we missed thin slices of ham or prosciutto ham during breakfast. Fresh juices we could only obtain via the spa café and to be honest service was slow and opening hours are limited. We lunched once in Eden and this was perfect too. Many fresh made to order products and salads. We loved the World Class bar, Sunset bar and Eden bar for their cocktails. During sunset it’s too crowded at the Sunset bar though and after the final theatre show it’s too busy at the Martini bar. It’s also difficult to get seating at the Club when you go straight from the theatre to the Club. We never had the opportunity to see performances at Eden except the live music when we dined there. Maybe that would be our only remark in terms of the entertainment schedule that is that every night was unique in the theatre and we therefore couldn’t see many other performances at other locations at the same time. Nights at the Club were fabulous, from the eighties party to the ABBA sing-a-long. We also love the Shine the night party at the pooldeck one night. Big applause for Darren, Daniel and the dancers, orchestra and singers of the Ascent. We had an infinite verandah cabin and having only sailed in normal verandah cabins we were a bit anxious if this would be the right choice for us. In all honesty we prefer a normal verandah cabin, simply because you have more of an outdoor feeling and the airconditioning stays on in your cabin. Would we not sail again on an edge class ship because of this? No, because again the ship is amazing and the bathroom in our cabin was also very spacious and well designed. Our bed was very comfortable. We only missed some extra closet space for our clothes (we don’t travel lite though). What we very much appreciated was the clientele onboard. Very sophisticated, dressed well but also stayed up late to party to dance at the Club. Maybe because of the good mix of Europeans, Americans, Canadians and Australians. So decent but not boring. The only bad thing we experienced was on our last sea day where some of the Americans and Canadians were in large numbers in the main pool with their drinks turning it into a Mexican all inclusive hotel with obviously dirty pool water. None of the staff did anything about it. Our ports of call were very nice. Kusadasi was the only one that could be skipped if we had the choice but I know this is very personal. We loved Istanbul with the overnight and Naples where we did the excursion to Capri, Sorrento and Pompeï. Capri is breathtaking. Same for Santorini and Mykonos, but make sure you are on the earliest excursion possible for Santorini to escape the crowds. So although not everything was perfect we’re looking back at a wonderful sailing with a well designed cabin, excellent food, friendly staff and superb entertainment. We’ve been on 5 Disney cruises, 1 Holland America Line, 4 Royal C. and now 2 Celebrity cruises. We love Celebrity and this will be our preferred cruise company at this moment.

On our Celebrity Edge® Series ships, we may have reinvented the main restaurant experience with four different venues, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining. With Celebrity Select Dining you can choose early seating at 6:00 P.M., late seating at 8:30 P.M., or dine whenever you want. You’ll be assigned one of the four main restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request and availability.

Kids and Teen Programs
The fun starts at Camp At Sea, our onboard entertainment centre and program designed exclusively for kids ages 3 to 12. Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes. Activities are overseen by our team of teen counsellors and offered throughout the day, allowing teens to come and go as they please.
Entertainment On Board
There’s no shortage of entertaining venues on board. Spend the day swimming in the pool with the kids, then watch the sunset while relaxing in one of our elevated hot tubs. Gather on board for movie night under the stars, silent disco parties, hot glass classes, and archery tournaments —so many activities to share.
