Tp preface : there is a big difference in pre-covid, and post-covid cruising on all the lines. I would have rated this cruise as poor pre-covid. Post-covid I will rate it better than average. Pros: Embarkation and Disembarkation were super easy and efficient in Miami. Room was decent, if somewhat dated. Steward was excellent ! Thank you Peter. Common areas were neat and clean, with the exception of public bathroom not stocked with soaps and towels. Staff was excellent overall, with some exceptions...usually new employees, with limited English skills Bar tenders and bar waiters were overall excellent. Cons: The food. Main dining room food was very bland, tasteless, and sometimes cold by the time it got to your table. Plating was excellent, I wish it tasted as good as it looked. Breakfast poor. Buffet was pretty much the same, except there was plenty of variety to choose from until you found something to your taste. Breakfast was the same everyday. I wish that they would have had more fruit and veggies. The Indian curries were excellent ( it helps to have all Indian cooks). O Sheenans. That was our major disappointment . Usually that is our go to place on all the NCL ships, but not on the Pearl. Service was hit or miss. We sat there for almost 10 minutes one time waiting for a waiter to wander over...other times service was good. Food was stale, cold, and/or reheated 50% of the time.. Specialty restaurants: Cagneys is the only one I will recommend. Great steaks.. Bottom line: Food needs improvement. Perhaps better quality control, and somebody to taste it that knows what it is supposed to taste like, rather than follow a cook book. Entertainment: Poor ! The Legends of Rock show was very good, the rest MEH ... Jugglers and magic shows are not my cup of tea. Musicians were mediocre . Need more pool deck activities, besides a DJ. NCL was always known for their great entertainment pre-covid, but not anymore. I realize that cruising has changed post covid, and the profit factor has to be increased to make up for those lost years. It seems to me that NCL has trimmed a little bit to much on their quality, causing unforced errors. AND PLEASE , PLEASE GET SOME BETTER COFFEE !
