December 22, 2024 - January 25, 2025 Cabin: (Owner's Suite, aft) This 34-day booking involved back-to-back cruises: Sydney to Perth (two nights in Bali) and Perth to Sydney. We also booked a third leg, Sydney>New Zealand>Sydney, for a combined 50 days. Activities—"Current" listed many activities, but I didn't participate. I picked up the Mensa quiz and crossword puzzle papers each day and completed two Art Scavenger Hunts but didn't turn in the completed work. Service—The staff works very hard to make every passenger feel important. From arriving at the dining venue to departure, you feel appreciated. Our cabin attendants (housekeeping and butler) are outstanding. My written comments received immediate attention. Cabin -- The Owner's suite is spacious, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. Dining -- We enjoyed many dinners in the Grand Dining Room. The Italian cuisine in Toscana is superb. The NY strip steak in Polo is my favorite dish. Entertainment—This small ship provides good entertainment, considering its limitations. What I enjoyed most were the guest entertainers from Australia. The string quartet (from Ukraine) played in the hall at least twice nightly and was enjoyable to hear. Disembarkation—Disembarkation for excursions in Melbourne was chaotic because another ship was there on its turnaround day. Communication between the port authority and the ship was not good, and we had to wait in the terminal for the situation to be resolved. Upon arrival in Sydney, ALL passengers had to get off the ship to turn in the Agricultural Declaration and remain off the vessel for 90 minutes. We went on an excursion to Sydney and the Opera House, so we were getting off the ship, anyway. We reserved this cruise 18 months before the ports of call were changed and excursions canceled. I recommend that cruisers check the website frequently, especially if they plan to reserve excursions through Viator, GoLocal, or similar companies. Also, be aware that you may not be on one of the first boats in tender ports unless you participate in a ship excursion. Bali is a frustrating port of call, and I wish we could have visited more places like Lombok (where we snorkeled) and the Komodo )excursion to see the dragons). The Terrace cafe is very congested, and since we don't like buffets, we only ate there once for lunch. The Waves is good for burgers and such, but they don't offer much lean cuisine. Room service at this level is excellent because you can order from any restaurant's menu and enjoy in peace with a special wine.
The generous dimensions of our suites and staterooms afford the ultimate in luxury. A fashionable colour palette blends sea, sky and comforting earth tones to create a soothing environment that invites relaxation. Every suite and stateroom on board will be imbued with an even more luxurious ambiance, featuring designer residential furnishings, fine fabrics and plush draperies, chic lighting and much more.
Suites Add Another Dimension
All of our suites are uncommonly spacious for added comfort. The Suites are adorned in designer fabrics and furnishings echoing the serene seas and expansive skies, becoming calming and tranquil oases of quietude and relaxation. Penthouse Suites offer oversized living and dining areas, and marble and granite-clad bathrooms with a shower.
Our palatial Owner’s Suites and Vista Suites offer everything you would expect in a world-class hotel, elevating sea-going opulence to new levels. Resplendent with custom Empire-style furnishings from Italy on board, each has its own bedroom, dining area and so much more.
Suite & Stateroom Amenities
All Suites and Staterooms are Smoke-Free
The ship offers a choice of dining options, from informal breakfast with sea-views to sophisticated dinner with French-inspired cuisine, all in open seating. Artisan bread is served in all restaurants, as well as freshly baked viennoiseries for breakfast. Award winning chef, Jacques Pépin, works closely with the restaurants to develop menus that blend both classic and exotic flavours.
Oceania Cruises offers several unique voyages exploring culinary, wine, music, health & wellness themes. Guests will enjoy seminars, hands-on classes, concerts, wine tastings and more. Depending on the voyage, Chef Jacques Pépin, up-and-coming jazz musicians, and noted editors will be special guests.
Experience the warm and convivial atmosphere unique to Oceania Cruises: elegance without pretence. Feel wonderfully at home as you meet fellow shipmates, explore the ship and prepare for the fascinating ports of call you will soon discover. Meet friends for cocktails at Martinis and share adventures you enjoyed ashore. Join an afternoon bridge game, or perhaps simply relax by yourself in one of the many private retreats reserved just for you.
The stimulating variety of entertainment options on board our ships continually ensures your interests are piqued. Enjoy an engaging guest lecture by a historian, naturalist or former ambassador eager to share insider knowledge. Relax at a musical performance, perhaps featuring a live pianist, a classical string quartet, a dynamic vocalist or a spectacular headliner. Later, try your luck at the elegant Monte Carlo-style casino or go dancing at Horizons.
Whether you want to stay active or relax and be pampered, the ship features a fantastic array of programmes and facilities aimed at improving your personal well-being. From the indulgent treatments of the spa, to fitness programmes tailored specifically for your needs, there is plenty to keep your mind and body happy whilst at sea.
