Ship Reviews

Staff- absolutely incredible. They are the difference maker! Dining- we prefer MDR and WJ for our dining experience. We like the themed dining menus per night. The specialty restaurants are nice but we're not subscribing to them. The food is nearly the same throughout the dining locations. Activities- your cruise director has a big impact on this and ours, Eric, was phenomenal! He was engaging, funny, energetic, and hyped up the passengers. Stateroom- we were in the panoramic ocean view suite on deck 12 (there are only 2 of these) and we absolutely loved the room. Incredibly spacious plus the suite perks. The room is ridiculously large with 1 full bath and an 1/2 bath. There was a bunk room also. The room itself has an insane amount of storage. Ship- we love this class of ship because it is large enough to have all the great activity locations, spacious and entertaining.

1) Overall my family had a wonderful cruising experience. Freedom of the Seas, once the largest ship in the world, has been well maintained and was manageable size. RC’s beach resort on Labadee, Haiti was a highlight and full of natural beauty. 2) We would like to call-out Chandra our suite state room attendant for his positive, do anything attitude, helpful tips, and great job managing our mess in the suite. 3) Leo and Neil made the suite lounge a quiet, relaxing oasis from the buzz of the rest of the ship. 4) Wycliff and Ni took care of us at dinner, creating a relaxing, fun atmosphere for us and our children, while also providing exceptional dinner service. Wycliff was especially personable and our family enjoyed getting to know him. 5) We do want to provide feedback on the drink plan and poor experience with the coke machines that were either out of order, not working properly or had long lines. Also, we were told the refreshment plan did not include non-alcohol beer?? So someone that does not drink alcohol has to buy the alcohol drink plan to drink NA Beer??We did not receive good value for the drink plan ($800+!!) and will probably not be recommend a drink plan, they have plenty of water stations at the bars. 6) Dinner food quality was poor the first night. Chicken was overcooked, steak was low quality, desserts seemed stale. Food quality improved the following days, which makes me wonder what was going on night one? We also think there could have been more all-day food options other than Mexican, fast pizza and pastries or room service; Royal Caribbean should consider a grab and go option with cold sandwiches, snacks and fruit/vegtables. 7) It was often too loud in common areas, they should consider lower speaker volume for bands and other entertainment.

FUN THAT’S AS BOLD AS ICE

The sun burned out eons ago, and Earth has become an unliveable frozen wasteland for all but two clans — Yetis and Snowshifters.
